Gavin McConnon

Gavin McConnon is an Irish born business founder and entrepreneur who has founded businesses in Ireland, Australia the UK and Europe. Gavin's network of businesses over his lifetime have seen him open offices and build teams in Sydney, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, London, Dublin, Johannesburg, Hong Kong and Calgary. Gavin is married and with husband Brendan they have two children.

After discovering F45 Training while in Australia. Gavin signed an agreement to bring the franchise to Ireland. 

F45 Training is the fastest growing fitness franchise in the world, with over 1,750 studios in 50 countries.

F45 launched in Ireland in Sandyford in 2017 and Gavin quickly capitalised on the opportunity and opened more locations in Dublin and Wicklow. Agreements were signed to open at least 10 studios around Dublin over the coming two years. 

boxPAY was launched in 2011 to build user friendly technology that allowed web merchants, game and app developers, social community providers and more the ability to charge consumers for virtual goods, digital content and internet services through their mobile device. The company received funding from Enterprise Ireland (The Irish Government backed VC) and went on to secure deals with over 100 mobile phone operators around the world. boxPAY launched the world's first Smart TV payment SDK allowing TV app developers charge consumers via their mobile device.

Moviestar.ie - Launched in 2006 and quickly became the No1 online DVD rental website in Ireland. 

Customers paid a monthly flat-fee service for the rental of films and TV series on DVD.  The business went on to launch Ireland's first video on demand streaming service and inked deals with National Geographic and Discovery Channel amongst others to launch their content via streaming in Ireland. The website won Best Website Launched in 2006 at the Eircom Golden Spider Awards. The business was sold to Screenclick.com (a part of Amazon) in 2009.

In 2001 Gavin founded Global Billing Solutions a leading mobile content monetisation company developing billing relationships with mobile operators around the world. The business provided users in 25 countries exciting and compelling mobile entertainment products, ringtones, games, applications and SMS services. The company generated revenues over $100 million in it's lifetime. In recent years the business has reduced in size, and closed operations in most countries. 
Previous to 2006, Gavin McConnon was the founder or co-founder of a number of technology, media or telecoms companies including:

Star55 Networks, a telephone based voice recognition software company, developing voice enabled apps for mobile phones.

Eirnet, a provider standard dial-up TCT/IP Internet access to users in Ireland - pre broadband.
